The prognosticator of all prognosticator's, Paul the Octopus has passed away. The cephalopod correctly predicted the winner of all of Germany's games in the recent World Cup, including their loss in the semi-finals to the eventual champion Spain.
Inspiring a litany of copy cats, none of whom ever quite matched the majesty of Paul, this 8-armed wizard will be sorely missed by the sports world. Going into the pantheon of famous sports animals, such as the Angles rally monkey, Paul will live on forever.
